To My Clients: My Promise To You
Hey There.
I know therapy can feel like a lot, whether you are thinking about starting sessions, or if you’ve been in therapy for while. It takes so much courage to open up to someone you don’t really know, and I don’t take that lightly. It’s such an honor to sit with you, hear your story, and walk with you through the ups and downs of life.
I wanted to take a minute to share a few promises with you, things I hope you always feel in our work together. Think of this as my open letter to you.
I Promise That I Truly Care About You 🤍
I really am invested in you – your story, your healing, and your life outside the therapy room. This isn’t just a job for me. I want to see you grow and feel more connected to the life you imagine for yourself.
You’ll always get the real me in session. I’m not showing up as some curated version of a therapist. You might hear me laugh with you, give honest feedback, or sit with you in silence when things feel heavy. I believe that when we both show up as our full selves, healing starts to happen.
🌿 There’s No “Right” Way to Do Therapy
Therapy may look different from session to session, and that’s okay! Therapy is meant to be a place where you can be real and transparent with how you show up. I promise that I’m not judging you for where you are in session. It’s also okay if therapy feels slow sometimes, or a little uncertain. It takes time to unpack things, identify and change patterns of behavior, and navigate moments when old reactions and hurt pop back up. This is your process and I’m here to support you through it.
You never have to worry about doing it “right.” If you’re unsure about something or have a question, please bring it up. We’ll figure it out together. I might not answer every personal question about myself, but I promise we’ll talk about what’s behind the question and what it means for you.
My Intentions Are Genuine 🫶
I want you to know that I come into each session with your best interests at heart. My hope is to help you notice patterns, explore what’s working and what’s not, and support you in making changes that feel right for you.
In saying that, I won’t always get it perfectly right. There might be moments where something I say doesn’t land the way I meant it, or I miss a moment of connection. If that happens, I really want you to tell me. We can talk through it together with honesty and care. Your voice matters, and repair is a big part of healing.
📚 I Am Committed to Learning and Growing
You deserve a therapist who keeps growing. I’m committed to continuing my education, learning new tools, and finding resources that might help you with what you need. If I don’t know something in the moment, I’ll do my best to find the answer or connect you with what you need.

If you’ve worked with me, you’ve probably heard me say this before, but I’ll say it again: You should be so proud of yourself.
This work is hard and you’re showing up. You’re trying, you’re noticing, you’re growing. I hope you take a minute to recognize that.
I’ll always ask what you need, not because I don’t care or don’t know what to do to support you, but because I want you to practice noticing it for yourself. You deserve to trust your own voice!
